"You know that whenever someone's down with fever, the first thing another person does is to give PANADOL?"
I remebered vividly that we nodded in unison when the lecturer suddenly brought that up.
"Actually, it is very dangerous to do that,"
"Huh?"
"you'll never know if that person has any adverse allergy reaction to PANADOL."
We looked at one another and burst out laughing.
"Allergic to PANADOL? How could one be? I mean, hey, it's the most common medication around!"
That's what I thought, and man, could I be ever so wrong.
I am one of them...
~
It's kind of ironic, thinking back. How would I have known that I myself am a victim to such allergy.
Down with fever today and went to the doctor. Quite high, that was what the doctor told me. I went home, took my medicine and rested on my bed.
Lo and behold, half an hour later, my eyes swelled...
So much so that I had difficulties keeping them open.
It swelled and itch. It did not stop there. By then, my eyelids had became swollen and clammy. It was THAT bad that I had to go back to the doctor.
The doctor told me that it was official that I am really allergic to PANADOL...PARACETAMOL, to be precise.
Which goes to say, I must never consume PANADOL of any kind, NEVER!, if i were to fall ill again...
Well, takes a longer route to recovery I guess,
but it sure is better for me.
I don't want to die because of swollen eyes...
it's pathetic.
